Will it ever become so?

I was innocently strolling along the pavement yesterday, and I saw a car with some stickes on it.

I suppose it was the car owners company that she was advertising.

It said “Your yoghurt, Your way”.

It was the most extreme example of the lack of creativity and intelligence shown in branding.

The ‘your’ obsession began around ten years ago. I remember Apple in the UK had an ad about the new iSomething that said “whatever you want, whenever you want it”, which was completely meaningless (and a promise they would only logically break).

“Consumers want something personal!”

It sounds so nice, doesn’t it?

“They wake up in the morning with a need to engage, interact, and to be frank spend their own time promoting OUR brands!”

I demand absolutely no personalisation whatsoever from mayonnaise.
