Low pollution: Thank you, Easterly winds!

The literal horror of December has not been repeated this month, thankfully.

The pollution in December was obscene. It was almost difficult to believe that such environmental issues are a part of the World today – but this is the sad fact. Other types of energy are not favoured by those in power, so the result is that their citizens have to live with the inability to simply breathe clean air.

Winds from the East change everything in Shanghai. It blows away the pollution caused by the plants which are mainly to the North and West.

See how the wind changing from Northerly to Easterly cleaned the air yesterday:

We have been very lucky to have almost two weeks of Easterly winds so far, and the weather forecast shows another week ahead:

At that point it will be close to Chinese New Year, an excellent time for a holiday away and to relax away in a clean and quiet place.
