Cheap Chinese food: Sichuan authenticity

Not quite ‘street food’, but not far off, there are plenty of small, local Sichuan places where you can get good food for low prices.

If you are without a Chinese speaking pal or are not sure what to order, you can try dan dan mian or ti hua, two of the main dishes. Be adventurous!

If you are forward thinking, you could even browse the links of the restaurants below and take a photo of the food that you think looks good, to show the staff when you order.

One is on Xinzha road near Taixing road – 10 minutes walk North from Nanjing West Metro.

One is on Wanhangdu road, at the other end of west Xinzha road.

You better like spicy food.

Yup the second one on wanhangdu lu is right in front of my residence complex. lovely aromas every time i walk by. they have some great sandwiches (in the bigger menu on the first page) which make for killer snacks to kill the 5 pm hunger pangs.
