St Marc Chococro cafe, Taikang Rd

(Shanghai, China, Asia, The World)

Good cafe. Not much else to say aside that it is a good cafe.

Well, one reason that it is a good option is that most of Tianzifang is a bit cack.

Tianzifang in itself is decent, and there are still some decent restaurants there. But it is great for tourists – not so much for residents.

The kinds of people who live in Shanghai and still want to go to Tianzifang are the kinds of people who (and this has been seen on all occasions there) wear sunglasses at night. That’s: sunglasses at night.

But if you are in the area, then on Taikang Rd, in between Ruijin and Sinan, oppostive 210 Taikang Rd, is St Marc Chococro Cafe.

It sits in the SML Mall (which is – obviously – called Sun Moon Light Mall). The SML Mall has a decent fast & junk food glutton’s paradise in the basement level.

But if you want some breads, mini pizzas and some lovely green tea latte in a budget-Japanese style, then try Chococro. Free wifi, lovely and warm inside and something a bit different from the usual Starbucks. And no one wearing sunglasses inside.
